Portrait Books are an awesome entry level fine art album perfect for family, newborn or teen portraits, guest books and budget conscious weddings. They are similar to our Boutique Books but are available in limited sizes with limited options as listed below. Printed on our gorgeous Seldex Signature Fine Art matte paper, Portrait Books are creased down the centre of the page ensuring a layflat design that provides an uninterrupted view of each album spread. They feature our "skinny" page option (approx .5mm) certainly not paper thin, but a little bit thinner than our standard Boutique Books pages.
Don't forget to check out our NEW Mini Press Books! Only available when you purchase a 10x10" Portrait Book. An inexpensive duplicate album, perfect for parents and giveaways, from our $40!
Our complete print and bind service saves you time and money and your album arrives ready for your customer to pick up!
Please make sure to print our Print Specifications information booklet to help with your print settings.
All Portrait Books are submitted as double page spreads - therefore if you are ordering a 10x10" album you would need to send us a 10x20" jpeg @300dpi.
All Portrait Books are printed on Seldex Signature Fine Art Matte paper only. Lustre is not available.
Your prints are "fine art" and therefore handled as such. Treat them as though they were an original painting as they are not as durable as lustre prints. This also means fine art printing should be stored away from moisture and direct sunlight unless protected by acrylic like in our Mietta Frames. When handling it is advisable to wear cotton gloves so any natural oils on your hands do not transfer to the print.
Portrait Books include 6 double page spreads - this is included in the price. Additional spreads can be purchased up to a maximum of 20 double page spreads.
If you require more than 20 double page spreads you will need to order a Boutique Book.

No. To keep the pricing down we are not offering studio embossing as an album option. We do think it is important to brand your album with your studo logo and we suggest you add your logo into the actual design - either on the first or last double page spread.
There are many options available to photographers for Boutique Books and it really depends on how much time, and or, money you have. The most popular and time saving solution is to use an album design programme such as Fundy or Smart Albums. If you go to the Software page here on our website you will find some of our recommendations for computer design programmes.
When designing your Boutique Book please remember to set your pages up as double page spreads. We trim off approx 2-3mm all the way around when we do a final trim. Please make sure you do not place anything in this area that you do not want trimmed off.
Yes! Seldex™ assembles prints and binds all Portrait Books inhouse and ships you a complete book ready for you to deliver to your client.
You can order your Portrait Book online - simply log in using your username and password and click on the "Add To Cart" icon in the top right hand corner of this webpage.
If the software you use to design your album does not create an album plan automatically for you, it is easy to create your own. By using Adobe Bridge or Photoshop you can use the jpeg files to create an album for us. This is then used by us to ensure the album spreads are all mounted in the correct order when binding your book.
Portrait Books are handmade, made to order albums and therefore require 10-15 business days to manufacture.
Legal jargon you most likely won’t read… but you should!
